Open Call for Partners: 2025 Programme

We’re inviting organisations to join us to accelerate the adoption of green skills in industry.

First Hand is a response to the urgent need to build our capacity to innovate and change to sustainable production systems. We offer real-world learning in industrial settings and a community platform for sharing ideas and practical actions.

Our interest is in transformative green skills – often overlooked but essential to innovate, adapt and thrive. Our curriculum for First Hand covers: complexity & systems change, creativity & innovation and partnership & collaboration.

Who we are working with

Our learning programme has been developed as part of the European Union Horizon Europe project called LEVERS. We’re part of a consortium of 11 organisations across 9 European countries. We use systemic design and participatory methods to create learning experiences that empower people to take an active role in creating a sustainable future.

In the past 12 months, we’ve prototyped and delivered learning and sharing events with partners and supporters who are tackling climate issues in industry, including universities, leading community and advocacy organisations, local government and purpose-driven businesses.

What you would be partnering on

Starting in 2025, our inaugural programme will offer a series of walking tours, field trips and one-off experiences. Groups of learners will explore transformative green skills in real-world industrial settings on the following topics:

  • Food systems
  • Circular systems
  • Material transitions
  • Energy transitions
  • Urban futures
